Detox ad: the image of a person meditating, brings about thoughts of peace and the serenity of mind. and when someone meditates, he/she throws away worries, anxieties and bad nerves. the designer associates this calm with the after effects of detoxification, with the "equations" (worries= toxins in body), (meditating person= detoxifying person). and who doesn't want fast effects? 5 days, its less den a week! this also attracts attention frm adults as most of them are working and have not much time for these kind of things.
Xando ad: they used Fann Wong! lots of girls would do practically anything to be like our pretty pretty actress who actually made it to hollywood. she's slim, confident, and most of all, pretty. ok, that was the main part of the ad. but, as seen, some thinking were also involved. by appealing to our glutton self, showing that we can eat as much as we want and not get fat. PLUS stay as slim as Fann. its target audience is most probably girls who are more concerned about their size, girls who LOVE TO EAT like me and Fann supporters. age group estimated to be around 16-25.

Philosophy behind the design: the blue in it represents the sky and also the traditional color of Bavaria, the white color represents the blades of an airplane. The alternaitng colors show the airplane propeller spinning through the sky.

Philosophy behind the design: The idea was introduced by Dick and Mac McDonald as arch shaped signs on the sides of their then ‘walk-up hamburger stand’ looked like the letter “M” from an angle and thus, were incorporated in the McDonalds logo as a merger of the two golden arches together. "Its all possible with the EEE PC" we are made to believe that little children nowadays have to be introduced to the computer as early as possible. 2.Lab Series- "Real men take control" trying to imply that if you are a guy, and think of yourself as a Real Man, you'll have to take control. of your skin, that is. High Tech. High Performance. Proven Results. stereotypes, sheesh. 3.Neuslim- "The Only DRINK that LOSES WEIGHT and RESHAPES the figure NATURALLY." "ONLY" and "NATURALLY", big big words. 4.Lenovo- "DESIGNED TO ENTERTAIN. PRICED TO ASTOUND." 5.Bossin Hair Care- "See results in 14 days or money back guarantee!" i seriously think they could have done better by stating "reaults in 10 days or less" that is such a common tactic. The Difference Weekends= Sports pages are more, ads are more, more "not so important" news. But, i'm reading the New Paper. So news types r practically always the same. Gossip news. I guess, due to more people buying newspapers on weekends, the ads r increased, so as to reach out to the readers more. I do know also, that Straitstimes weekend papers are almost twice the size of normal weekday papers. Prices are also different by 10cents(courtesy of hanhui).
